What you might see or hear..............Graunke Park & Natural Area is an excellent and rare remnant of urban tableland forest exhibiting a diverse subset of vegetation species.
Many urban-adapted species of birds and small mammals inhabit the site, use it for foraging, or as a stepping-stone to other refuge.
There are also many snag trees, fallen trees, and nurse logs within the stand that provide habitat and foraging opportunities for cavity-nesting species, pollinators, mosses and fungi while replenishing the soil.
Getting there and around..........................The Park is located at the southeast corner of 50th Street and 34th Avenue, accessible all daylight hours and maintained year-round.
Parking is along adjacent 32 Avenue.
ETS stop #3628 - 20 steps away. There are easy walking and stroller trails within the forest stand. The perimeter is also easily walked using sidewalks or abutting grassy areas. Check the three more ETS routes within 200 metres.
RSVP or questions/concerns............... or to join our email list, attend our AGM (April, date TBA), volunteer in any way or arrange for a free tour - email: darrylh@telusplanet.net
